 DevilDriver наконец-то разродились новым альбомом, получившим незамысловатое название "Beast", и, по сравнению с предыдущими релизами группы, здесь сделан упор на большую мелодичность. Но жесткая молотиловка, конечно же, никуда не исчезла. "Dead to Rights", первая композиция на альбоме, прекрасно вышибет вам мозги стремительным напором замысловатых ударных и риффов. То же можно сказать и про "Bring the Fight", которая начинается в духе классического брутал-дэта, и про "Hardened", размазывающую вас по полу толстым слоем риффа. В общем, вы поняли. Некоторые песни звучат неожиданно мягко, но это не делает их плохими. Совсем наоборот - парни не хотят из года в год выпускать одни лишь свинцовые пули в несчастную башку слушателя: иногда его нужно слегка погладить по головке, перед тем, как ей снова не поздоровится.
Что же касается общего качества материала, то здесь все на высоте: музыканты обладают очевидным мастерством, а их дар нашпиговывать свои пластинки охренительными риффами с каждым альбомом только крепчает. Но ничего особо оригинального вы здесь не увидите, потому что DevilDriver относятся к числу тех, кто предпочитает совершенствоваться в выбранном стиле и не уходить на неизведанные территории. |
