Здесь нечего много писать. Лучший альбом SAXON за всю их историю. Что ни песня - то 100%-ный хит. Тут звучит настоящий heavy metal на рок-н-ролльной подкладке. Никаких посторонних примесей. Никаких ментальных наворотов. До сих пор многие вещи с альбома группа играет на концертах. А если учесть, что «Heavy Metal Thunder» и «Strong Arm of the Law» являются настоящими гимнами heavy metal, ценность его повышается еще в несколько раз. Так же хочется отметить «Taking Your Chances» с ее классными риффами. «Hungry Years», представляющую собой тяжелый блюз (редко кто из металистов осмеливается делать блюзы, за исключением Моторхэд) и «Dallas 1p.m.», рассказывающею историю про убийство Кеннеди - выдающаяся во всех отношениях композиция (в новой версии этой песни куда-то исчезли выстрелы из центра композиции, видимо, кому-то они помешали). Именно с этого альбома рекомендуется знакомиться с творчеством группы и даже с heavy metal в целом. Как любят выражаться некоторые товарищи – «маст-хэв» на все времена! |

Англичане решили закрепить свой успех, пришедший с пластинкой «Wheels Of Steel» и в этом же году выпустили в свет свой третий номерной диск «Strong Arm Of The Law», который отличался повышенной тяжестью звучания и агрессивностью музыки. Альбом был вновь спродюсирован Pete Hinton'ом. Музыкальный материал продолжал уже найденную линию на предыдущих альбомах в виде смеси из заводного рок-н-ролла и тяжелого хард рока. Должен заметить, что Саксон хоть и стояли наравне с другими группами новой волны британского хэви металла, но в этом году они значительно отстали от своих коллег, поскольку по всему миру гремели Присты со своей британской сталью «British Steel», Аксепт разбивал все препятствия и устраивал революцию со своим сильнейшим вторым диском «I'm A Rebel», ну а Мэйдены как раз выпустили свой дебютный альбом «Iron Maiden», который до сих пор пользуется сумасшедшей популярностью. Но что же наши герои? А наши герои стабильно гнули свою линию, только для приличия создав парочку новеньких и свеженьких синглов, таких как заглавная качёвая композиция «Strong Arm Of The Law», заключительная средне темповая вещь «Dallas 1PM», открывающая бешеная композиция «Heavy Metal Thunder», и следующая за ней самая цепляемая и хитовая тема на диске «To Hell And Back Again». Если сравнивать рассматриваемый альбом с предыдущим диском «Wheels Of Steel», то можно точно сказать что они находятся в одной весовой категории, и практически нечем не отличаются друг от друга, кроме как утяжелившемся саундом. В целом, Саксонцы очередной раз доказали что такое чисто английское качество, но вот меня они на сто процентов в своей правоте не убедили. |
