 Не знаю, есть ли у буров аналог нашей пословицы «От добра добра не ищут», но то, что ребята из Seether разделяют этот тезис целиком и полностью, сомнению не подлежит. На своём втором альбоме они решили не изобретать велосипед, а попросту использовать всё лучшее, что было на первом. Причём не только в фигуральном смысле: ровно половину из 12 песен «Disclaimer’а» мы могли слышать двумя годами ранее на дебютном «Fragile».
В остальном, изменения если и есть, то исключительно косметического характера. Это всё тот же коммерческий пост-гранж, безукоризненно исполненный музыкантами и отшлифованный до глянцевого блеска кудесниками американской звукозаписывающей индустрии. По большому счёту данный релиз вполне мог бы считаться модифицированной версией дебютника и называться «Fragile 1.2» или «Fragile Reload», но есть одна вещь, которая всё же не позволяет этого делать. Речь о заключительной композиции. Seether и раньше нельзя было обвинить в неумении писать хиты, но именно «Broken» (впоследствии неоднократно исполнявшаяся совместно с Amy Lee из Evanescence) вывела их на совершенно новый уровень популярности и перевела из разряда «очень неплохих» групп в категорию топ-звёзд.
В общем и целом, альбом заслуживает исключительно превосходных оценок и не случайно считается одним из лучших как в дискографии группы, так и во всём жанре в целом. |
