 Должен быть хороший повод для того, чтобы здесь не было рецензии на дебютник Infernal Majesty. Может про эту команду все забыли, а может, их сложно найти. Я про этот альбом услышал лет десять тому назад и совершенно случайно наткнулся на него совсем недавно. Так как нынче трэш-метал переживает свое второе рождение, и все эти молодые нео-трэшеры появляются отовсюду, как грибы после дождя, я решил, что было бы не лишне отправиться на два десятка лет назад и посмотреть, что собой представлял северо-американский трэш, не призывая к бедру таких именитых бойцов, как Megadeth, Slayer, или Testament. Если кому-нибудь здесь, как мне, нравится мрачный злобный трэш, и не просто бешеная молотилка, а с большим запасом оригинального креатива, - вы просто обязаны ознакомится с канадским трэш-памятником «None Shall Defy».
Первые 20 секунд заставят вас трясти головой, причем очень быстро, а вслед за этим скорость на время снижается до среднетемповой. Однако я не сказал бы, что становится мягче. Никаких даже намеков на это нет. Дальше все очень жестко. Мощный грохот и гонка на коньках до самой победы. Скрежещущая «Оverlord» (это не про операцию в Нормандии во Второй Мировой?) бьет по ребрам, пока не закончится. К тому времени уже становится понятно, что никакого снисхождения не будет (что по-мазохистски радует!)
Вокал ревущий, но в меру, разобрать можно практически каждое слово. Иногда, правда, вокалист срывается с цепи и поет целые куплеты скороговоркой. Помните такие альбомы как «Reign in Blood» и «Violent Pacification»? Вот они, хардкоровые корни, и сюда проросли. В то же время, это довольно мелодичная работа. Соло и акустические гитары, появляющиеся тут и там, постоянно напоминают, что это не простой с цепи сорвавшийся трэш-дивизион, направляющийся в вашу сторону, дабы переломать костей и наорать в уши для прикола. Это мастерски сточенное произведение искусства разнесения в пух и прах, которому самое оно стоять на высоких постаментах в залах креативного метала. Звучание очень хорошее и чистое, каждый инструмент и вокал отлично слышно. Это к тому же второй трэш-альбом, который мне крайне нравится за то, что в нем хорошо слышно бас-гитару. Первый – «Hell Awaits», который мне постоянно вспоминался при прослушивании «None Shall Defy». Тем не менее, спешу заметить, что канадский ответ, хоть и вышел два года спустя Slayer-85, более устрашающ и четок в донесении до слушателя своей сверлящей злости.
Величественные, как в «RIP» или жуткие, как в «Path of the Psyco», мелодии сменяются сумасшедшим молотиловом. Однако Infernal Majesty явно не стараются играть быстро все время. Они болезненно плодовиты и искусны в различных областях, способных щекотать нервы. Но уж когда они ускоряются, то нельзя устоять, флегматично пожимая плечами. Вас затаскивает в мощный водоворот и уносит в темные глубины. После такого становится понятно, что не только «Reign in Blood» and «Pleasure to Kill» безоговорочно правили в злобном трэше в середине восьмидесятых.
На этом переизданном диске последние два трэка взяты с демо «Nigresent Dissolution», вышедшим через год после полноформатника. Звучат они сырее, и, тем не менее, это отлично сработанный трэш, который заставит вашу голову с яростной методичностью вбивать гвозди в стол.
