Этот релиз, я послушал совершенно случайно и, признаюсь, не пожалел.
Итак, что мы имеем?
Мы имеем демо-альбом, состоящий из шести песен, существенно отличающихся друг от друга. (Во всех смыслах, включая качество записи:) ). Объединены песни общей достаточно характерной мелодикой и вообще некой общей голосовой харизмой, духом. Голос вокалистки Dani по ощущениям местами напоминает evanescence и Within Temptation. Голос звучит мягко, холодно и приятно-трогательно.
На версии релиза, которая попала ко мне 7 треков. Можно выделить три основных направления, в которых группа мыслила, когда записывала их - лёгкие электронно-акустические баллады, gothic metal и progressive. На мой взгляд, наиболее выйгрышной частью альбома является его прогрессивная составляющая - песни Haesitatio и Iceland. Атмосфера заглавного трека Iceland на мой взгляд очень точно отображена в обложке диска. В этой музыке слышна загадка и таинственное непонятное движение.
Что приятно, альбом изобилует красивыми мелодиями. Ave Sensorium вообще произвела на меня впечатление саундтрека к хорошему голливудскому фильму. Красивое фортепиано, ненавязчивый ритм и замечательное пение.
L.M.A. же наводит на мысли о раннем Korn с женским вокалом.
Я хочу отдельно сказать о треке Haesitatio, с которого началось моё знакомство с альбомом. На мой взгляд Haesitatio - лучшая часть альбома. Он как бы вобрал в себя части всех остальных песен и связывает их. В середине песни есть секция, которая отлично вяжется с вальсообразным движением Forest в первую очередь плавной вокальной мелодией и гипнотизирующими гитарами. К слову, это единственный трек в котором клавиши и гитары участвуют на равных. Уверенно солирующий синтезатор и бескопромиссно тяжёлые, но в то же время атмосферные гитары создают ощущение величия, слышное даже в демо-качестве и отсылают к L.M.A., а непредсказуемая структура песни объединяет этот трек с Iceland.
В целом релиз произвёл на меня очень приятное впечатление. Стиль в котором записан диск называется Nu Art Metal. На самом деле то, что получилось лежит где-то посередине между Sympho, лёгкой готикой и progressive. Подобную ситуацию я наблюдал на поздних альбомах Jonh5 который вместо объединения метала и кантри в рамках одного трека выпускает альбом в котором в разных треках слышишь либо кантри, либо метал. Так же и здесь - все идеи, звучащие на этом альбоме следует лучше увязать друг с другом. С другой стороны, это демо...
Оценивать демо работы всегда непросто, потому что не знаешь за что хвататься, поэтому я буду судить по идейности и композиторскому мастерству. А то что мы видим здесь - много разных хороших песен, запоминающиеся мелодии, интересные структуры и приятный голос. С заделом на будущие - восемь из десяти.
