The band's self-titled debut record was recorded in two weeks with Los Angeles-based engineer, producer, and instrumentalist John Fields. The band's first single, “Lock ‘N’ Load (feat. Slash)” was written by Jon Stevens and Slash The song was a Rolling Stone magazine Daily Download and was also available on the website of BBC Radio 2.
The Dead Daisies were a special guest on Aerosmith’s Australian tour and completed a second stage headlining U.S. run at the 2013 Rockstar Uproar Festival with Jane’s Addiction and Alice in Chains as headliners.Lead singer Jon Stevens performed for a time with casts on his hand and leg, as a result of an injury sustained escaping from a crocodile on a fishing excursion in Australia. Jon also sang vocals for the main theme song to the Disney movie Planes called “Fly”
